"It was a cold Sunday evening when Mother, George and I arrived at Grandma's. She said "Don't take your coats' off. Aunt Mary and Aunt Frances are going to meet Miss Carter (who wore pink)and Mr Taylor (the bank manager) also you must wait for Uncle John and Aunt Annie. I am afraid that we are apt to forget them and that isn't very kind." We soon found Miss Carter and then Mr Taylor and Uncle John and Aunt Annie. They seemed so pleased to be coming to Grandma's with us, Aunt Charlotte had cups of hot cocoa ready for us. Then Mr Green (the new curate) called and sang 'Glory to Thee, my love' looking at Aunt Charlotte who's face was bright pink. And the year was 1906."
